“Today we are sending a circular to ask that class councils not take place so early”, announcement Friday, May 26 on France Bleu Lorraine Nord Pap Ndiaye, Minister of National Education. While the school year is due to end on July 8, the date of the summer holidays, several schools are already organizing class councils, which Pap Ndiaye deplores. He considers that “the class councils that are taking place now” are not “undesirable”. The Minister of National Education evokes “a difficulty”particularly in terms of absenteeism during the third quarter.
“Compulsory education and the obligation of regular attendance [valent] for all students”
Pap Ndiaye, Minister of National Educationin France Bleu Lorraine North
For Pap Ndiaye, this quarterly meeting, which allows the evaluation of student achievements, must therefore take place at “month of June”. To find solutions, the Minister therefore “asked a former rector to look into this question”. “We are officially launching a mission with conclusions at the start of the school year to ensure that next year the situation is better”he adds.
