A merchant ship flying the Panamanian flag was sunk by Russian missile fire in the Black Sea, and two others were damaged, the administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority, Noriel Arauz, announced on Wednesday (March 16th). The crews are safe and sound, he said.

“We know that three boats (flagged as Panamanian) were victims of attacks by Russian missiles”said noriel Arauz to journalists. One of these ships “Sank, and two are still afloat but have suffered material damage”he added.

“The Russian Navy” prohibited 200 to 300 ships from different nations of “out of the Black Sea”, denounced the administrator of the Panamanian Maritime Authority. According to him, a dozen boats flying the Panamanian flag dedicated in particular to the transport of cereals, and about 150 crewmen of these ships, are thus blocked in the Black Sea.

On February 25, after a first attack against a ship flying the flag of Panama, the authorities of the Central American country requested “urgently” to avoid navigating in Ukrainian and Russian waters in the Black Sea and the Sea of ​​Azov.
