In the Lot-et-Garonne, 32 owners had bought housing off plan in 2010. Since then, due to numerous poor workmanship, they cannot rent their property, which is squatted.

In Boé (Lot-et-Garonne), a former teacher and his wife, who had bought an off-plan apartment in 2010, saw their accommodation squatted. Indeed, with its poor workmanship, their good is not commendable. “We paid 120,000 euros for this apartment. We reimburse 850 euros every month for nothing”, regrets Robert Moriot, defrauded owner. Their developer cheated 32 owners who had invested in these homes and then put them up for rent.

“We say to ourselves that there is a need somewhere for real estate with controlled rents and in the end, everyone loses. And then, we, small savers, are the first to suffer the consequences”, notes Emmanuel Durand, defrauded owner. The developer was ordered to pay 20,000 euros in compensation per dwelling, which seems ridiculous to the owners, who have not received rent for ten years.
