One day before France, some of the French overseas go to the polls on Saturday June 11 for the first round of the legislative elections. In order, depending on the time difference, the polling stations opened in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Guyana and the West Indies (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin), before mainland France and the Corsica Sunday at 8 a.m. (Paris time). The other overseas territories (Wallis-and-Futuna, New Caledonia, Reunion and Mayotte) also vote on Sunday.

In French Polynesia and in the eleven constituencies of French people living abroad, the first round has already taken place on June 4 and 5. In the second round, ten duels will oppose the presidential majority to the left-wing coalition, the Nupes (New Popular Ecological and Social Union).

After the close of the campaign on Friday at midnight, the reserve period began. Until 8 p.m. Sunday, no “message having the character of electoral propaganda” shall not be broadcast by the audiovisual media. However, it is possible to mention the stakes of the ballot, the material voting operations and the participation rate.
