A four-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being hit by the driver of a vehicle Thursday morning in the Outremont borough of Montreal.

The tragedy occurred shortly before 9 a.m. near the intersection of Bloomfield and Lajoie avenues.
The toddler was reportedly hit by a black SUV at the entrance to an alley. The child was taken to hospital where he is fighting for his life. He was, however, conscious after the accident.
The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old lady, was turning south to enter the alley. She was treated for nervous shock.
Collision investigators are heading to the scene to analyze it.
