Outaouais CISSS | Yves St-Onge named interim CEO

(Quebec) The Quebec government made a change at the head of the Outaouais Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) on Wednesday, when President and CEO Josée Filion will be replaced on an interim basis by experienced manager Yves St-Onge.

In a press release, the government indicated that Mr.me Filion, who has been CEO of this CISSS since 2019, will be entrusted with new functions within the Ministry of Health and Social Services, where she will work on “strategic files”.

The tenure of M.me Filion had however been renewed for a period of two years last May by the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé. No official reason has been given to explain this change in CISSS management.

Before assuming the presidency of the CISSS de l’Outaouais, Mr.me Filion had spent a few months as deputy CEO. Her career has also led her to work in the CISSSs of Lanaudière, Sud de Lanaudière, Cœur-de-l’Île and Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes, as well as at the Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur in Montreal.

“I would like to thank Josée for her contribution over the past four years, particularly in the fight against the pandemic. We wish him good success in his new duties in Quebec,” reacted on Twitter the minister responsible for the Outaouais region, Mathieu Lacombe.

As for Mr. St-Onge, he accepts a second interim mandate in as many years, he who had taken the head of the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec between February and July 2022.

Mr. St-Onge spent 35 years in the health and social services network, before retiring in 2020. At that time, he held the position of interim CEO of the CISSS des Laurentides, where he was Deputy CEO since 2017.

“With his experience as a senior manager, Mr. St-Onge has valuable expertise that will benefit the CISSS de l’Outaouais and the entire population of this region. I am convinced that with his in-depth knowledge of the challenges of our network, his proven leadership as well as his interpersonal qualities, he will be able to carry out the major projects of this establishment, in collaboration with his team and his partners”, underlined the Minister. Dube in a press release.
