Outaouais | A fisherman discovers a human foot at Lac Rond

(Sainte-Thérèse-De-La-Gatineau) Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec were called to go to Lac Rond, also known as Lac des Pères, in Sainte-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau, in Outaouais, after a fisherman made a surprising catch, namely a human foot.

According to Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the police force, the macabre discovery, which occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, remains unexplained for the moment.

“A team of forensic identification technicians was dispatched to the scene,” she said. Divers from the Sûreté du Québec also went to the scene. »

The Provincial Police’s Forensic Laboratory and Forensic Pathology Department is busy trying to find out who owns the foot.

For now, the investigation is continuing, says Sergeant Bernard.

No assumptions are made at this time as to what could have happened or as to the identity of the person to whom this foot belonged. The rest of his body has not yet been found.
