The driver was traveling around 8:35 p.m. in the opposite lane on rue Saint-Louis northbound, before returning to the right lane, not without hitting a snow curb.

The man ran a red light when turning left on the Alonzo-Wright bridge, before taking the opposite lane, narrowly avoiding a face-to-face which would have been fatal for him to burn again a red light at the intersection of route 105.

The police preceded his arrest when the driver stopped to enter a residence.

Tests revealed a blood alcohol level well above the authorized limit, indicated the Police Department of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais.

The repeat offender had his driver’s license suspended and his vehicle seized for 90 days, it was added.

The sexagenarian to whom the police have given a statement of offense will appear in court next April.
