The Prime Minister went to the Georges-Pompidou hospital in Paris to observe a minute of silence in tribute to the nurse who was fatally stabbed on Monday.

“Today the entire healthcare community is in mourning and our whole country is heartbroken.” Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne paid tribute, Wednesday, May 24, to the nurse killed at the University Hospital of Reims (Marne). With you, I am thinking of his family (…), his relatives and his colleagues. I am thinking of the deeply shocked Reims hospital community”said the head of government from the Georges-Pompidou hospital.

Elisabeth Borne greeted a nurse who “gave himself fully for this job” and also had a word for the “second victim of this tragedy, very seriously injured, and to whom we show our full support”. At the end of his speech, a minute of silence was observed within the Parisian establishment as well as in all the hospitals of France, in tribute to the nurse in his thirties who was fatally stabbed.

The facts took place Monday shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the Reims University Hospital, within the service of the occupational medicine and health unit, according to a press release from the public prosecutor. The assault on the nurse and a medical secretary occurred while they were in a locker room. The nurse succumbed to her injuries after being taken care of by several surgeons. There medical secretary, aged 56, “feel better”, announced Wednesday the Minister of Health, François Braun, on BFMTV. She is out of the operating room and is found “now under surveillance”.
