(Ambrì) Forward Alex Formenton has signed a one-year deal with HC Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss Professional Hockey League after being unable to reach a deal with the Ottawa Senators.
Formenton, a restricted free agent, couldn’t play in the NHL this season because he couldn’t agree on the terms of a new contract with the Senators before the deadline to do so, which is the 1er December 2022.
The Sens, however, still have his bargaining rights if he returns to the NHL.
Formenton scored 18 goals and had 14 assists in 79 games last season.
