(OTTAWA) The Ottawa Senators signed defenseman Travis Hamonic to a two-year, $2.2 million contract on Tuesday.
Hamonic scored six goals and 15 assists in 75 games with the Senators last season.
The 32-year-old veteran set a personal high in games played and finished second in scoring among team defensemen.
Hamonic has 50 goals and 179 assists in 793 career NHL games with the New York Islanders, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks and Senators.
The Manitoban was a second-round pick, 56e in total, of the Islanders in the 2008 NHL Draft.
