Ottawa Redblacks | Jeremiah Masoli will have to miss the rest of 2023

(Ottawa) Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Jeremiah Masoli will miss the remainder of the 2023 season with a ruptured left Achilles tendon that will require surgery.


The San Francisco native was injured in the second quarter of Ottawa’s game against the Tiger-Cats on Saturday in Hamilton. It was his first game in a year, after suffering a right leg injury which saw him miss the last 17 games for the Rouge et Noir.

The Ottawa team compiled a 5-12 record in his absence. Dustin Crum replaced Masoli on Saturday. The Rouge et Noir (1-3) also called on Nick Arbuckle this season.

The team has announced that Masoli will soon be operated on in Ottawa.

The Rouge et Noir will play its next Saturday, at TD Place, when it hosts the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
