The federal government is investing $400,000 in a project to protect and restore about ten species at risk in the Montreal metropolitan area.
The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Steven Guilbeault, made the announcement on Friday on the banks of the Mille-Îles River in Laval.
The funding will allow Éco-Nature to carry out a species protection project, including the snapping turtle, the least bittern and the American water-willow.
The habitat protection project will take place on “diverse and interconnected sites near the Parc de la Rivière des Mille-Îles”.
