(Ottawa) Ottawa police confirm that six bodies were found late Wednesday evening in a residence in the south of the city, and that one person was arrested in connection with the case.
Late Thursday night, the Ottawa Police Service assured that the safety of the population was not threatened.
The six people, four children and two adults, were found at a residence on Berrigan Drive shortly before 11 p.m. in the residential area of Barrhaven. Authorities were alerted by at least one call transmitted to the 911 emergency telephone center.
As of daybreak Thursday, it was unclear whether there were any connections between the victims and the arrested suspect.
Investigators from the Ottawa Police Homicide Unit are trying to establish the circumstances of what happened.
