Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou are back on French soil. The two French rugby players charged with rape in Argentina returned to France on Wednesday evening, September 4, their lawyer announced to AFP. They were not seen by the journalists present on site, but the two players left Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, according to the same source.

The players had been authorized by the Argentine justice system to leave the South American country, the extension of the psychological assessments already carried out (which the plaintiff’s lawyers had requested) having been rejected on Tuesday. The prosecution has set several conditions for the return to France of the two players: the rugby players will have to, in particular: “to present themselves if summoned to the Argentine consulate in France, to establish a real and virtual address”or even “to report to Mendoza if asked”.

In the morning, their lawyer Antoine Vey predicted on franceinfo that “win the legal battle in the coming days”and then to conduct a “media battle” in particular against the testimony of the complainant, who gave her version of the facts on France 2, because this “maintains confusion about what justice has said”The complainant maintains her version, according to which the two 21-year-old rugby players violently abused her in a hotel in Mendoza (west) on the night of July 6 to 7.
