Orleans Loiret Basket hoped before losing on the floor of Bourg-en-Bresse

As part of the 14th day of Betclic Elite, the Orleans Loiret Basket played its last match of the year 2021 this Monday, December 27, 2021 at Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain. Before the meeting, the Loirétains were 11th with 6 wins and 7 losses. Their opponent was only one victory behind. The victory was therefore imperative especially since the year had to be finished on a good note because the previous match against Paris was a collective wreck.

A sluggish start

The start of the match is sluggish for the Orleans people with a lack of precision against the basket. The two teams stand together and neither manages to make the difference in the first period. The two teams return to the locker room with a three-point advantage for Bourg-en-Bresse: 32-29. Proof that the two teams are unable to gain the upper hand, Orléans’ biggest advantage was four points.

A little hope

The OLB offers an end to the match full of twists and turns. Marcus Paige offers extra time to his team with a shoot three points in the dying seconds to tie at 71 everywhere. Extra time is therefore needed to separate the two formations. As during a good part of the match, it is the locals who take the advantage to lead the race. OLB only score four points in 5 minutes. OLB 84-75 loss. After the meeting, the Orleans coach congratulated the behavior of his players during the 40 minutes of the match and hopes to start again in 2022. In the standings, Orléans see Bourg-en-Bresse returning with the same ratio of victories.
