This Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Orléans Loiret Basket received Elan Béarnais for a Coupe de France match, the round of 16. After the severe defeat in Nanterre last weekend, the OLB had to offer a good performance in front of their public before the break.
Orleans cracks at the end
A first half where the OLB stood up to Elan Béarnais and even raced in the lead for a long time. Germain Castano’s men return to the locker room with a slight advantage: 38-37. The OLB had an excellent third quarter and started the last act with nine point lead: 64-55. But the start of the last ten minutes is very bad, Pau comes back to three points in just 1’46 seconds. The meeting is tense and the last minutes uncertain as to the winner. The Palais des Sports pushes behind its team but the OLB lacks realism. Orleans loses 77-70 and is eliminated from the Coupe de France.
