The organizers of the Paris Olympic Games denounced, Friday June 7, the dissemination of false information, a message circulating since Thursday on social networks and private messaging services. This announces temporary road closures in Ile-de-France during the event (from July 26 to August 11).

Since Thursday, this falsely signed message from the Paris Olympic organizing committee lists a litany of temporary closures of the Paris ring road, roads and highways in Ile-de-France over a period of one month including the Olympics. He circulated “on WhatsApp loops and others”said the organizers. “Paris 2024 is not the origin of the content that is broadcast, and strongly denounces this usurpation. In-depth investigations are being carried out to identify the origin of this malicious content”they explain in a press release.

The organizers point out that the only reliable sources on the subject are “the website of the Paris police headquarters” And “the site anticipaterlesjeux.gouv.fr which centralizes information”. For several months, the Games have been the subject of multiple attempts to destabilize them on social networks. “Paris-2024 will continue to monitor, in conjunction with the competent authorities, the veracity of the information circulating about the event and its organization”assure the organizers.
