Less than three days to link the Channel to Morbihan. Amateur skipper Oren Nataf, alongside his team-mate Sidney Gavignet, is the first competitor in all categories of the Drheam Cup to have crossed the finish line in front of La Trinité-sur-Mer on July 19 shortly after 5 p.m. His green ray docked after two days, two hours and 47 minutes race.
Oren Nataf therefore won the victory in his category, Multi 2000, but also won the scratch ahead of the 111 other skippers still in the race. Other boats followed later, on the night of July 19 to 20, including the crew of Kuka 3, first in real time in the IRC category. L’Ultime by Tom Laperche arrived shortly before 1:30 am.
Several abandonments, including that of Loïc Escoffier
Other skippers, on the other hand, had to give up. This July 19 at 4:40 p.m., Loïc Escoffier capsized off the Fastnet, before being rescued by the Irish Coastguard around midnight. He is not injured but has to abandon the race. For his part, Ian Lipinski suffered damage aboard his Class 40 and was also forced to retire.
Le Manchois Hervé Jacqueline, a competitor in the double-handed IRC category on the 600 nautical mile course, is also no longer in the race on Wednesday. The skipper from Barneville-Carteret had to give up due to a sail problem on his Polperro II.
