Floods expected in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques are also on orange alert in the face of flood risks. It mainly concerns the Gave d’Oloron, the level of which rises with heavy rains and overflows. In Oloron-Sainte-Marie, forecasts establish that the water level could exceed four meters by Friday.

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques prefecture has even activated its departmental operational center in the face of this orange vigilance: all State services are on alert in anticipation of the expected rise in water levels between the end of Thursday night and the start of the night. Friday morning.

A portion of the RN134 closed to traffic

As for the risks of avalanches, they mainly concern the Haute-Bigorre massifs, those of Aspe and Ossau. The prefecture of Pyrénées-Atlantiques has therefore decided to close the national road 134. No vehicle can circulate in both directions between Peyranère and the Somport ski resort, which corresponds to the portion of the road in the area of ​​the municipality. from Urdos.

A detour is set up by the national 1 134 via the Somport tunnel. The circulation of heavy goods vehicles of more than 7.5 tonnes remains prohibited on the national 134 and 1134 between Gurmençon and the Forges d’Abel.
