Monday, July 25, the 20 Hours investigates the coverage of glasses and hearing aids. Opticians are supposed to offer and promote supported glasses, but in one in four stores this would not be the case.

Glasses are very important accessories in the life of those who wear them. Customers pay 150 euros, on average, out of pocket per pair purchased, which represents a substantial budget. However, since 2020, mutualized people are not supposed to pay a penny thanks to the “100% health” system. But this new legislation would not be respected by a quarter of opticians. “The optician never told me about this law and never explained to me clearly what it was about”laments Alice Tommasi who had to pay 95 euros out of pocket.

To conduct the investigation, several optician shops were visited. The result is eloquent, since the supported frames and lenses are not offered or are stored in drawers. “We can’t count on professionals to show these offers, so if we want it, it’s really up to the consumer to demand it”advises Maria Rubstova, loaded from mission toUFC-que Choose. 384 shops were notified while 32 reports were issued.
