We are two elderly people, and we would like to stay in the accommodation that has been ours for 16 years. It’s expensive, but it’s okay. One will be 80 in three weeks; the other will be 77 in ten weeks.

During the month of March, a cold period, we lived in our accommodation for four long days without electricity, with little information. Nobody helped us, apart from the owners of a formidable butcher’s shop, which has just closed its doors. Without Thierry and Christine, we would not have survived.
A few weeks ago, in June, we suffered another outage, which lasted a few hours. We were worried, fearing the worst, wondering if we should once again throw food away.
In the middle of a heat wave, on Thursday July 6, 2023, another breakdown and more anxiety, more worry, more anger.
We live in an unfriendly world, we who once dreamed with Ivan Illich and many utopians, thinking that the world could become better.
If the trend continues, as far as electricity is concerned, we should experience six or nine other blackouts in this year 2023. Maybe that’s more than too much!
