I have already had a hyper-sovereignist conversation with Mr. Drainville. At the time, he was a rising star in the PQ. I was not the only one to see him as the Saint Bernard who would lead Quebecers to the gates of sovereignty. By joining the CAQ, he becomes one of the greatest flippers on Earth. The Saint-Bernard who was leading us safely has become the wolf in the sheepfold. In his new political life, he will defend tooth and nail the third link to the detriment of ecology.
He will trumpet loud and clear that by the year 2035, there will be no more oil-powered cars, and that the greenhouse gases produced by cars will be absent when the tunnel is in operation. On this point, he is not in the field. He will forget to point out that the creation of this tunnel is a driving force for the pursuit of urban sprawl to the detriment of urban densification. […]
For me, Saint Bernard is a smooth talker who works for obscure and personal interests. For me, Legault and Drainville are indeed men with backward-looking ideas worthy of Maurice Duplessis. These musketeers are brave fighters for big capital at the expense of the nation they claim to defend.
Don’t be fooled, because the charm of the siren song will be constant by October 3.
I will not vote for the CAQ, because I really care about the ecological future of Quebec.
