Operation Red Nose: more than 24,600 escorts carried out in Quebec

Quebecers did not hesitate to call on Operation Red Nose volunteers to return home safely after their end-of-year parties, since 24,639 rides were carried out from November 24 to December 31.

22,648 volunteers took part in the operation during this 40e edition in order to drive home motorists who did not prefer to get back behind the wheel, the organization said in a press release published Wednesday.

“Together, we have once again succeeded in making the roads safer during the holiday season and I feel great pride and immense gratitude towards all those who contributed to this adventure,” mentioned Jean Marie De Koninck , founding president of Operation Red Nose.

On the Montreal side, 1,225 transports were carried out with the mobilization of 730 volunteers.

The metropolitan branch was able to collect $32,533.80 in donations which will be given to the Fondation du cégep du Vieux Montréal.
