(Bucharest) Simona Halep, former world number one, will have to take a few weeks off after undergoing nose surgery, she said on her social networks.

The Romanian, currently ninth in the world, had been suffering “for some time” from nose problems which worsened during the summer, making her breathing difficult, especially at night.
“The only way to fix it was to have surgery,” Halep said on Instagram, adding that the surgeon took “this opportunity to do plastic surgery as well.”
” Everything went well. I will need a few weeks of rest before I can resume physical activity, ”she wanted to reassure herself by posting a photo of herself smiling from what looked like a hospital bed, her nose bandaged.

Winner of Roland-Garros in 2018 and Wimbledon in 2019, Halep was eliminated in the first round of the last US Open by the Ukrainian Daria Snigur, yet from the qualifications.
