Since its inception 10 years ago, Pamika has been providing an upscale experience of Thai cuisine. Chef and co-owner Pamika Sukla, after whom the establishment is named, hails from the Issan region of Thailand.

In 2012, she moved from Bangkok to Montreal and opened her restaurant on rue Sherbrooke Est, at the corner of Saint-André. Today, it is the turn of his “baby” to move into a more spacious, better located and even more chic premises – the one which has already housed Sir Joseph and Radicelle, among others.
From aperitif to dessert, we eat and drink with our eyes. The presentation of the cocktails, created by the director of the establishment, Eddy Germain (4e Mur, Henri Brasserie Française), is spectacular.

Dishes follow, with special mention to the superb and delicious khao soi, a curry made with chicken and egg noodles. The shrimp fried rice, with crab paste, may be less visually impressive, but its charms are revealed on the taste buds.
And what Thai meal would be complete without coconut mango sticky rice? At Pamika, this typical dessert is simply insane.
These three courses are just a small sample of the extensive evening menu, which also includes a host of starters, salads, noodle dishes and stir-fries, for example. To make a change from the pad thai and to explore a little, you will want to be advised by the well-informed service staff.
Pamika is open seven evenings and five lunchtimes (Monday to Friday).
