We’ve been waiting for it for a while, the Damascus take-out counter. During the long long months of closure of the past two years, the entire large restaurant has been transformed into a small factory at ” takeout », with its legendary mezes and its inimitable fattoush salad, its succulent lamb dumplings, its grilled meats, its fish and its other emblematic dishes.
Posted at 1:00 p.m.
Now, we go to Folfol, directly opposite, for takeaway meals, large and small, which do not all reproduce exactly those of Damascus, despite several cross-checks.
Added to this is a nice selection of beefy sandwiches: the usual shish taouk, shawarma and falafel, but like you’ve never tasted them, then a Damascus cheeseburger with sujok spices. For the summer, we can expect the offer of sandwiches to increase to a dozen varieties.
The prices are high, but the portions generous. In a few years, several other Folfol branches should open in Montreal and/or the surrounding area.
For now, Folfol is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. So don’t bump your nose into it at lunchtime! In the near future, the doors will open earlier.
