The news will delight Clermontois lovers of culture. The new Croix-de-Neyrat cultural center opened its doors this Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne). After almost two years of work, this new structure brings together the old Jack Ralite media library and the new imago C2N music center. The two entities are installed in the same oval and bright building. The architecture of the building was designed to mix the music space and the reading space.

Two spaces in the same structure

The media library section offers computer stations self service, a study room, board games and video games rooms, and of course a reading and multimedia area.

The musical pole is composed of a listening room open on the documentary collection from the media library. This space should also allowhost events. It also offers four music practice studios with the loan of instruments.

The two entities share reception, animation and technical rooms

Diversified audiences around a varied cultural offer

Objective of this new cultural space: vary offers and audiences. “It will give a little particular coloring to our actions and our animations, explains Nathalie Delguillon, responsible for the northern reading pool and in charge of the media library of the Croix-de-Nayrat cultural center. There will be a lot of stuff going on around the music. “ The idea is also to take advantage of this cultural mix to involve new partners. “There will be work in partnership with the neighborhood schools, with the various structures of the territory”, says Nathalie Delguillon.

The studios are equipped with instruments, drums, controllers, mixing consoles and software for making music.
