Opening | Delights and atmosphere at Café Papilles

Boucherville was seriously lacking in places for specialty coffee lovers. This is now a thing of the past since the opening of Café Papilles, located a few steps from Place Lionel-Daunais. This charming third wave café is run by Chloé Desruisseaux and Marie-Ève Lemieux who worked together in the kitchens in gourmet restaurants and who wanted to “rediscover a certain proximity with the customers”.

The place offers a soothing ambiance with its pastel decor, abundant lighting, hanging plants and enveloping music. In the glass and on the plate, we are equally delighted. The caffeinated drinks are made with beans from Colombia and Brazil harvested by women farmers and roasted by 94 oC of Sainte-Julie. The Instagrammable matcha latte delights the eyes and palates with the addition of strawberry puree. Hurry up if you want to taste it, because the strawberry will soon give way to the peach.

On the bakery side, fans of Automne boulangerie will be delighted to have access to several of its loaves, croissants, chocolatines and English muffins made with organic flours. These breads and pastries also serve as the basis for sandwiches and small dishes, like this delicious soft-boiled egg served on a croissant with kale (kale), parmesan and herb vinaigrette. Children are not left out with the mini muffins (which are also very popular with adults, we are told), the raspberry and lemon limo pap and the papcorn (popcorn).

With its warm welcome, its small take-out meals and its catering and home chef services, Papilles is quickly making its place in Boucherville.
