Opening | Boswell settles in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville

The Montreal craft brewery Boswell is doubling up. The establishment, which is celebrating its eighth anniversary this year, has opened a second branch in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville in recent weeks. “It was a great business opportunity. I find that we somewhat underestimate the potential of the South Shore,” says co-owner Nicolas Paquet, who himself lives in the suburbs.

Even if they are less spacious than those in Montreal, the new premises, which have around thirty places in addition to a terrace, reproduce the friendly and unifying atmosphere of this microbrewery in the Plateau Mont-Royal. The menu is “surprisingly elaborate” for the microscopic size of the kitchen, argues the co-owner. In particular, you can enjoy a duck cassoulet, a salmon tartare and a plate of homemade charcuterie. For the moment, the beers brewed on site are the same as in Montreal, but the team wishes to offer exclusive casks at each of its addresses.

Currently, what sets Boswell Saint-Bruno above all apart from its big sister in Montreal is the presence of a shop where you can find “everything you need for an aperitif”, explains Nicolas Paquet, specifying that almost all of the products offered are from Quebec. Marinades, cheeses, charcuterie, salmon gravlax and duck confit are sold there. Not to mention ciders, wine and, of course, beer.
