Opening | A Posto at the post!

In the summer, we line up in front of their creamery in the Saint-Henri district, Dalla Rose. In winter, it turns into a ramen counter. And now, year-round, CHUM workers, guests of the Sonder hotel above, UQAM students and other passers-by can grab a slice of Roman pizza or a quick sandwich at their new café, A post.

Michael Dalla Libera and Nick Rosati saw a great opportunity to serve an end of Saint-Denis Street that is not so rich in high quality food services.

Open from 7 a.m., Monday to Friday, the pretty café also serves all the variations of espresso from the Italian repertoire, with beans roasted in Montreal, croissants and chocolatines from the Guillaume bakery, donuts stuffed with Léché and a ” breakfast sandwich” in point, stuffed with ham and cheese.

  • You can taste the excellent stuffed donuts from Léché or take away a pot of Dalla Rose ice cream, if you feel like it.

You can, of course, leave with a pot of Dalla Rose ice cream — there will be a proper counter during the summer — or with several grocery items, such as pepperoncini and hot sauce from the local brand Mark’s, quality tomatoes, a pot of caramel, etc.

In short, A posto is one of those addresses as versatile as it is gourmet that the neighborhood lacked. And to add a nice festive aspect, Michael and Nick invited their friend Tom Allan, also a former restaurant Nora Gray (today at Le Mélisse), to prepare chicken parmesan sandwiches, this Saturday, January 22, from 11 h while supplies last.
