Opal Gelflex | The customizable pillow | The Press

The Opal Gelflex could have been called the Peanut because of its ergonomic shape. The pillow, made in Quebec, has this curve in the center that molds the shoulder to achieve proper spinal alignment when sleeping on the side or back.

An already interesting detail. But what mainly sets the Opal apart from its competitors are its three additional flat cushions—two 1-inch and one 1.5-inch—that tuck into its organic cotton cover.

The trick makes it possible to adapt the height of the pillow, between 2.5 and 5 in., according to the morphology of the sleeper and his vision of comfort. With a gel-infused memory foam core, the pillow is firm enough to provide good head support. Its additional layers of foam give it a light surface softness that you would expect from a pillow.

From an aesthetic point of view, the Opal however has the defect of its qualities: an irregular shape and a reduced format which floats in the pillowcases. We forgive him since his cover is washable (but will shrink in the dryer). If you haven’t found the perfect ally for a peaceful night, you’ll hide it behind traditional pillows.

Between $120 and $150
