Ontario | AtkinsRéalis plans to sell its stake in the 407 ETR toll highway

Groupe AtkinsRéalis plans to sell its stake in the company that owns the 407 ETR toll highway, north of Toronto, by the end of 2027.


The company formerly known as SNC-Lavalin announced the plan as part of an investor presentation outlining the company’s latest financial goals. The sale is part of its desire to focus on its engineering services and nuclear activities.

AtkinsRéalis holds a 6.76% stake in 407 International Inc.

The other owners of the toll highway are the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board with a 50.01% stake and Cintra Global SE, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ferrovial SA, with a 43% stake. 23%.

In its outlook, AtkinsRéalis indicates that it seeks to continue the expansion and growth of its margins.

The company says it will also aim to increase its investments in fast-growing markets, including launching initiatives in engineering services across the United States, utilizing its nuclear expertise and investing in mergers and accretive acquisitions.
