A Francophone cooperation agreement is being prepared between Ontario and France. The Ontario Minister of Francophone Affairs, Caroline Mulroney, and her French counterpart, Franck Riester, signed a joint declaration to this effect this week.
The document was signed Tuesday, in Toronto, by the Minister Delegate in charge of the Francophonie and French people abroad, Franck Riester, a few days after the visit to Ottawa and Quebec of the French Prime Minister, Gabriel Attal.
Warm exchange with @C_Mulroney on the #francophonie and on our actions to bring to life the Franco-Canadian cultural, educational and scientific wealth.

“Our governments maintain historic and strong relations,” Minister Mulroney wrote on the social network […] in terms of the French-speaking world.
The French Minister Delegate mentions in particular “actions to bring to life the Franco-Canadian cultural, educational and scientific wealth”.
At the beginning of April, a similar declaration which highlighted the “vitality” and “potential” of French-speaking communities was signed between Queen’s Park and New Brunswick. Ontario had also ratified a joint declaration of French-speaking cooperation with Wallonia-Brussels in the fall of 2021.
“We are working together to build the future of the Francophonie everywhere in the world,” Ms.me Mulroney.
