Continuation and end of the round of 16 at Roland-Garros this Monday, June 5. In the women’s draw, Ons Jabeur largely dominated Bernarda Pera, before the arrival of the great favroites Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff. The meeting between Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov will serve as a “night session” on center court.

Djokovic, Alcaraz, Tsitsipas and Sabalenka without a hitch

If everyone is looking forward to their potential meeting in the semi-finals, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic brilliantly joined the quarters yesterday. Easy winners of Lorenzo Musetti and Juan Pablo Varillas, they will face Stefanos Tsitsipas and Karen Kachanov respectively. On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka did not lag behind against Sloane Stephens while Elina Svitolina confirms her return to the fore by joining the quarter-finals two months after her return to the circuit.

The output earthlings

The two finalists of the 2022 women’s tournament will be on the courts on Monday. Iga Swiatek will play in the third rotation on Suzanne-Lenglen while Coco Gauff will do the same on Philippe-Chatrier. It was Ons Jabeur that opened the day on this same Central. On the men’s side, Casper Ruud, Holger Rune and Alexander Zverev are all aiming for a place in the quarter-finals.

A few blue heads on the courts

If the two main draws were deserted by the Habs before the end of the first week, there are still French people to see at Roland-Garros this Monday. Alizé Cornet and Diane Parry face the Chan sisters, seeded n°14 in the round of 16 of the women’s doubles. Among the juniors, no less than 10 French are on display this Monday, six boys and four girls.
