6th round
of the French Football Cup, there is only one amateur club left in Côte-d’Or involved in the competition: Saint-Apollinaire, which plays in National 3, the 5th division. Last season, Saint-Apollinaire lost in the 7th round against DFCO, in Gaston-Gérard, for the “Neighbours’ Day”. The draw
of the 7th round (and the 8th round) will take place on Wednesday October 19, 2022, at Clairefontaine, from 11:30 a.m. The DFCO, the only professional club in the department, will make its debut during this round, scheduled for the weekend of October 29 and 30.
Saint-Apollinaire wins the derby
The Côte-d’Or was guaranteed to have an amateur club in the 7th round since a match opposed two teams from the department. Marsannay, a Regional 2 club, hosted Saint-Apollinaire, which plays in National 3. The logic of the hierarchy was respected, since the épleumiens won 5-0 away from home.
No achievement for Longvic
The miracle did not happen for Longvic, resident of Regional 3 – the 8th division. The smallest Côte-d’Orien club still involved in the competition lost at home to Louhans-Cuiseaux, who play in N2, four divisions above. Final score: 6-0 for the Saône-et-Loire club.
It’s over for the USCD
A single division separated the USCD (R1), the Union sportive des cheminots dijonnais, from its opponent for this 7th round, Jura Dolois. The Dijonnais lost on Saturday, outside, with the score of 6-0.
The DFCO enters the next round
Free fall
in Ligue 2, the DFCO, the only professional club in Côte-d’Or, can hope to find new life with the Coupe de France. The “Reds” enter the competition in the 7th round, the weekend of October 29 and 30. We will have to do better than last season, when the DFCO was eliminated by AS Cannes (N3) in the 32nd finals.
