(Burnaby) Simon Fraser University in British Columbia has ended its football program, its president, Joy Johnson, announced Tuesday.
The Red Leafs were to play next season in the Lone Star Association. In February, however, the body announced that it would not renew its association with the university after the 2023 season.
The Canadian squad compiled a 1-9 record in 2022.
Simon Fraser University athletic teams have been playing against NCAA Division II teams since 2010-11. USF is the only Canadian institution in the NCAA.
Simon Fraser University had relied on a football program since 1965.
