The attack on the Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption basilica in Nice was one year ago to the day and the trauma is still present in the minds of the people of Nice. A tribute was paid to the victims during a ceremony this Friday, October 29.
One year after the attack on the basilica Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, the families of the victims paid a vibrant tribute to the three people who succumbed to the attacks of the terrorist Brahim Aissaoui, on October 29, 2020. The families wanted to remain discreet but they wished to invite the SAMU personnel, the first on the scene of the attack. “It was a difficult intervention that will affect us forever”, explains a member of the SAMU.
Muslim scouts were also present during this tribute. “We too sympathize with all these issues and the attacks that have taken place”, testifies a member of the scouts. Nice lived a day of tribute, and at 8.45 am, Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption sounded the death knell. At the exact time when, on October 29, 2020, Brahim Assaoui assassinated the three parishioners. A year after the events, the people of Nice are still very marked by this tragedy.
