Victims of pedophile priests in the Church are still awaiting reparation, Wednesday, October 5, a year after the publication of the Sauvé report on sexual abuse.

Victims of pedophile priests are angry, Wednesday, October 5. One of them was among the first to be heard, in January 2022, by the repair commission. This had been put in place following the revelations of the Sauvé report on pedophilia in the Church. When she was received, Nanou Couturier, victim of a pedophile priest, was surprised by the financial compensation offered by the commission.

Another victim hopes for reparation from INIRR, the Independent National Authority for Recognition and Reparation, but for him too, the time is long. “No response apart from the automatic email that they more or less send back to all the victims. (…) Afterwards, it is marked that in any case, we will all be contacted by a referent”, testifies Piero Brogi, victim of a pedophile priest. Since their hearings, the victims still have to fill out files, but also answer questions deemed indecent.
