A motorist was fighting for his life on Sunday afternoon after a violent head-on collision occurred on Highway 955 in Sainte-Eulalie, in the Centre-du-Québec region.
For a reason that remained to be clarified, two vehicles collided head-on around 11:45 a.m. on a portion of the highway where the lanes in each direction are not separated by a median, explained Hélène St-Pierre, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
Only one person was in each vehicle involved in the accident. One of the motorists, a man, suffered very serious injuries which raised fears for his life.
The highway had to be completely closed to traffic in the afternoon, with the establishment of detours, the time to allow an investigator specialized in accident scene to do his job.
