One Love” remains at the top of the North American box office

The Reinaldo Marcus Green biopic continues to seduce American audiences for the second week in a row. Behind the melodies from Jamaica comes an animated film adapted from the immensely successful manga, “Demon Slayer”.

The legend of reggae told on the big screen in Bob Marley: One Love remained at the head of the North American box office this weekend, with $13.5 million collected, according to estimates on Sunday from specialist firm Exhibitor Relations. The Jamaican singer Bob Marley, with his dazzling success and his sudden death in 1981, is played by the British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir, known for his role as Malcolm One Night in Miami.

Behind the melodies from Jamaica comes an animated film adapted from the immensely successful manga, Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – On the Road to Pillar Training, by ranking second with $11.6 million in revenue, confirms the popular success of the phenomenon from Japan. “An excellent start” for such a film, notes analyst David Gross, even better than a previous opus released in March 2023.

In third place we find the film with Christian inspirations Ordinary Angels, with 6.5 million dollars. It tells the true story of a Kentucky hairdresser who unites her entire small town to help a widower left alone to take care of his sick daughter. After this drama comes the Marvel superhero film Madame Web, with 6 million dollars. For this fourth Sony film in the Spider-Man universe, actress Dakota Johnson plays an ambulance driver with clairvoyant gifts.

The animated film Migrationfifth, gleans 3 million dollars in revenue.
