Valenciennes station (Nord) was evacuated at 5:10 p.m. on Friday March 25, after the fire of a freight train parked on one of the platforms, reports France Bleu Nord. Explosions were heard. There is one dead and three slightly injured. Among these three injured, there are two firefighters. An employee of the SNCF is in a state of shock.
The emergency services, firefighters and Smur, are on site. The preferred track is that of a person on a train who has been in contact with a catenary.

On Twitter, TER Hauts-de-France specifies that a “Personal accident took place at Valenciennes station and caused a fire on the train.” The Lille – Aulnoye-Aymeries and Douai – Valenciennes axes are interrupted.
The company explains that “many deletions must be pronounced and heavy delays are to be expected.” On Twitter, the vice-president in charge of transport in the Region Franck Dhersin plans “damage to the network that will be very significant.”
