“Once again, the far right shows its true face”, responded Annie Carraretto, co-president of Gironde Family Planning who was the target of a far-right group, for the second time this week. A message against the right to abortion was written in red on the facade of the premises in Bordeaux.

This is not the first time that Family Planning has been targeted in Bordeaux: “There were a lot of tags from the time of the ‘Manif pour tous.’ There have been a few each time the law has evolved”, explains the co-president of Gironde Family Planning. “We never talked about them too much because we don’t like giving them too much publicity either. But at the same time, today, I believe that there is really a political confrontation of societal choices and that we have every interest in opening this debate”she adds.

“The far right increasingly uninhibited”

Previously, the Gironde family planning was the target of actions of the nationalist Bordeaux group “who signed his interventions” And “which was recently dissolved by Monsieur Darmanin”, she recalls. This time “It’s Identity Direct Action”. “They are much less known, but they obviously claim the same line”she says.

“The National Rally wants us to believe in respectability in the Assembly, and we have far-right groups that are increasingly uninhibited, who themselves really display a social project that is not ours”, she regrets. The Gironde Family Planning has filed a complaint “for the offense of obstructing abortion”.
