The NPO Les Cocagnes, which already hosts two farms on 40 acres of land acquired two years ago in Frelighsburg, has invited a dozen chefs to prepare 15 country meals there, almost every Saturday and Sunday from August 13 to August 8 october.
Posted at 2:00 p.m.
Among them are Xavier Larivière and Aaron Kawajigashi (Flowers and Gifts in Montreal), Christian Beaulieu (Tartinizza in Sutton), Marie-Fleur St-Pierre (Tapeo in Montreal and Jardin du Bedeau in Kamouraska), as well as Marc Proulx (Comptoir Mustard in Frelighsburg) and Luc Pinard (formerly of La table fermière de Dunham).
The chefs will alternately cook a 5-course meal with local ingredients, including vegetables harvested on site from Rizen farms, which specialize in Asian vegetables, and Les whistles. The dishes will be served with local beers, ciders and wines.

Only 20 guests will take part in each meal. The price is set at $230 in presale until August 10 for two people, taxes and tip included.
This sum will also finance the construction of an outdoor kitchen and the development of the site, on the edge of a pond, to make it a permanent agrotourism destination, with the sale of vegetables or ready-to-eat meals and walks in nature, in this nice corner of the Eastern Townships.
Tickets are on sale on the Cocagnes fundraising campaign website.
