The media presence of the leader of La France insoumise seems to upset some of his counterparts in the New Popular Front. Jean-Luc Mélenchon is also seen as divisive by some voters.

Has Jean-Luc Mélenchon become the scarecrow of the unified left? On the evening of the European elections, the leader of La France insoumise was neither party president nor elected official. However, he is the one who will speak. Since then, his statements have cast doubt on the intentions of the man who considers himself the leader of the unified left. Monday evening on France 2, he wanted to put things straight: “I want everyone to hear me: I’m worthless”he insisted.

But two days earlier on France 5, Jean-Luc Mélenchon seemed to cultivate ambiguity. An ambiguity which provoked the hiring of various components of the left. Olivier Faure and Fabien Roussel then posted the same message, to the exact word, on the social network X. Marine Tondelier, the patron saint of environmentalists, thinks no less: “It has to be someone who unites”she declared on France Inter.
The Insoumis’ speeches also disturb voters: “I think he is divisive, and there are a lot of people who would like him to step back”estimates a local resident interviewed.
