A perfect playground for the practice of nature running
We are here on the north face of the Chaîne des Puys. So here we have hills to climb, flat land, forest and above all, panoramas of great beauty! This course is therefore called “On the heights of Volvic”, we are over 16km to cover at our own pace, running, walking for 540m of positive elevation. Departure from the Place de l’Eglise in Volvic with on the menu an exploration of the Impluvium de Volvic and the natural reserve of Cheires and Caves, a very interesting natural and human heritage, a passage through the granitic Plateau of Viallard and its exceptional view of the Chaîne des Puys, a stop at the Château de Tournoël and a climb to the statue of Notre-Dame de la Garde which has watched over Volvic since 1861.

A technical route
Very little road on this route, trail but also halfway through a fairly technical and rocky descent … you have to be well equipped for this 16km route so, good trail shoes of course, hydrate well too. We are on a route of medium difficulty where the pleasure is there and the emotions are very present! We also borrow portions that you find every year on the Volvic Volcanic Experience and on the Trail de Vulcain.
