on the embankment, the mountain goes to the sea

Crazy idea? Not that much, obviously: on the Saint -Gilles-Croix-de-Vie embankment, a restaurant offers its customers to settle in cable car cabins, came from ski resorts. The operation began on Friday November 19 and will end on January 2, and the success is impressive: according to Yannick Lanoë, boss of “The bone and the ridge”, 800 reservations have already been registered.

Yannnic Lanoë bought this restaurant in July. For the winter, he was looking for a way to continue working, in a very low period. Bet won: the ten cabins, which he rented to a company in Pau, are always full: “The phone is from morning to night, every five seconds, as soon as you hang up, it reminds you, people really want to share this moment”.

It must be said that everything is there: the decor, with skis or panels that we are used to seeing on the slopes, and then, of course, the Savoyard menu, with its tartiflettes, raclettes and other fondues. .. Originality is what attracts the clients we have met: “Everything is done as if we were in the mountains. We are fine in our little cabin. And it’s really funny, being in a ski resort cabin by the sea! “

The dishes range from 16 to 24 euros. But beware, you will understand: it is necessary to reserve.
