Almost three years to the day after the assassination of Samuel Paty, another teacher was brutally murdered in a high school. This Friday, October 13, a teacher from the Gambetta-Carnot high school in Arras lost his life after an attacker aged around twenty entered the establishment to attack him and to two other people currently between life and death.
The assassin was known to the police, and his siblings had already aroused the concern of the high school’s teaching team in the past, as revealed by Véronique Fèvre, education journalist, on the set of BFMTV this Friday. “As for the family of the attacker, we have, unlike the young people who will be tried for the assassination of Samuel Paty, a truly worrying family profile”clarified our colleague before giving more details.

The Arras attacker worried the teaching team
She explains that the murderer, as well as his siblings, were described as “worrying” according to testimonies collected by the educational teams of the school. “We couldn’t turn our backs on them, we were constantly afraid, we were on alert. Between us, we said that these people would end up taking action one day and would appear on BFMTV”revealed Véronique Fèvre.
Surprised by this revelation, the presenter asked: “Was it the teachers who said that?”. The journalist clarified: “These are members of the teaching team who no longer work in the establishment today.” She explained that the attacker was coming “regularly with long religious-type outfits, which have since been banned.” He had also attacked a teacher and a young girl in the playground, and disciplinary measures had been taken against him in the past. “Here we have a student who we have been wondering for several years what measures have been taken to support him, not only in terms of security”she concluded.
