As every year, since 1989, Belgium has an appointment with the great evening of Televie. A charity operation for the benefit of the fight against cancer and leukemia, in children and adults, the closing of which is televised. For his 35e edition, broadcast this Saturday April 22, 2023, it was Kendji Girac who agreed to be the sponsor of this great solidarity show which raised more than 11 million euros! And in a sequence recorded and broadcast on the set, we were able to discover the interpreter of Color Gitano all in tenderness and emotion as he talks with Chiara, a 12-year-old girl who survived last year osteosarcoma, an extremely virulent bone cancer. “A wonderful granddaughter, with a devastating smile and just incredible mentality and strength. Thanks to her, I even received a great lesson in life”, he confided on the set of the show before launching the subject presenting the courageous journey of Chiara which explains : “When I found out it was cancer, I was shocked. What was going to happen to me? I asked myself lots of questions, the treatments, the consequences… It was a scribble in my head. It was hard”, she says holding all the attention of the singer, very impressed.

“In your life, many other things will still happen…”
“During my cancer, when we did the chemo which didn’t work, it made the tumor evolve. My bone broke completely and there I had to plaster myself up to the pelvis. I was in total depression. I had to stay 2 months in the hospital, I no longer spoke, I no longer ate”, continues the valiant little girl who admits to having dropped to 19 kilos. Fortunately, his illness did not spread to his whole body, but his badly affected leg had to be amputated: “At first, I didn’t want to see anyone until I had my prosthesis. And when I was amputated, I told myself that I was like that, it does not matter. My family loves me as I am…” concludes with a beautiful philosophy little Chiara. An observation that commands the respect of the 26-year-old artist who expresses all his admiration for him: “How do you manage to find this courage to be able to encourage your family? You do it in an extraordinary way, with a giant mind and power (…) Bravo for that, I congratulate you” says Kendji Girac, who then makes an unexpected request: “In your life, many other things will still happen. Only the best will happen to you, and I wish you that. Besides, I would like to follow you and I would even like to be your godfather to you personal. If you agree ?”, he asked, visibly upset. “THANKS”soberly replied this young girl with the most edifying course.
