From May 7 to 11, the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Malmö, Sweden. It will be Slimane who will represent our country and carry the colors of France high in search of its first victory in the competition since the last one which dates back to 1977. And to put all the chances on his side, Vitaa’s sidekick had to make some concessions .
Indeed, this Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the 34-year-old singer announced “bad” news to his community on social networks. “I have a little bad news to tell you”he said first in a video published on his social networks, before continuing: “There are certain dates that I will have to postpone on the Cupid Tour […] which do not correspond with Eurovision, especially in May and also a few before. Because when we do Eurovision there are pre-parties so I will have to go and sing abroad”. Subsequently, the former candidate of The Voice asked his community not to “blame him” because these sacrifices are made for Eurovision: “It’s so we can go far. I try to do everything to the fullest. We managed to postpone everything so that’s cool.”

Emmanuel Macron supports Slimane with humor
And Slimane will be able to count on significant support. Indeed, this Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron were on a state visit to Sweden, host country of the next Eurovision contest. During his speech, the French Head of State wanted to address the subject and send good waves to Slimane.“During the next few months we will have great opportunities to meet […] in May 2024 with the Eurovision contest”first recalled the President of the Republic.
Emmanuel Macronlucid,
even ironically
when France’s record at Eurovision was mentioned. “So it must be said that France has never had much luck, at least not as lucky as Sweden because the last time we won Eurovision was in 1977,” he recalled before praising the representative of France: “but we hope that the great artist, Slimane, who will represent our country, will have more chances”. Enough to flatter the main person concerned.
